Katelyn Kerins

Hi there! My name is Kate Kerins. I began teaching in 2019 and am entering my fourth year at St. Mel. I graduated from University of the Pacific with a Bachelors Degree of Science in Psychology and will be graduating with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from University of Massachusetts, Global this year! I am the 7th grade homeroom teacher. I teach 6th–8th accelerated math and this year, I’m delighted to also be teaching 8th grade science.

My mission in the classroom is to ignite curiosity, promote confidence, and help students develop a growth mindset through inquiry and hands‑on learning. When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll likely find me training for my next 100‑mile race or out on Folsom Lake paddle-boarding with my husband and our dog! I love being part of the St. Mel community and look forward to another inspiring year of learning, growth, and community spirit.
