TK gives your child the opportunity to begin to spread their wings in a safe, developmentally age-appropriate environment. St. Mel School teaches TKers a sense of responsibility, community, and the Catholic faith all within a nurturing and loving atmosphere. The St. Mel TK program focuses on the spiritual, physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of your child. In addition to daily class instruction, TK students participate in weekly enrichment activities that include Music, Art, Spanish, Physical Education, STEM, and a visit to the school library. Our TK program provides students with a wealth of opportunities to achieve the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare them for Kindergarten.
Faith is central to all learning that takes place at St. Mel Catholic School. Our TK class is fully involved in the school faith community. TK students attend Mass and prayer services and participate in school-wide service projects. The goal of TK is to provide a fun, positive, small-group setting that encourages a love of learning, develops a sense of community, and prepares your child for Kindergarten in a faith-filled environment. This is achieved through a combination of developmental, multi-sensory, academic, and social experiences.
The TK program at St. Mel School allows each child the opportunity to participate on a weekly basis in enrichment activities including Music, Art, Spanish, Physical Education, STEM, and visiting the school library. Our program will provide many opportunities for each child to achieve the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare them for Kindergarten.
The TK class meets Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and follows the St. Mel school calendar. For busy families who need after-school care, the Extension program is open after dismissal until 5:00 p.m. while school is in session.
