St. Mel School Advisory Commission (SAC) is a policy making board with representatives from all segments of the school community. Any St. Mel parishioner or parent, 21 years of age or older, who has a positive attitude toward the philosophy of Catholic education shall be eligible to become a member of the Commission. Members of the Commission include elected members with the Pastor, Principal and Parent’s Club President as ex officio members. The School Advisory Commission meets each month. All parents are invited to attend board meetings.
The St. Mel Parents Club, under the direction of the school administration, provides financial assistance, directs school programs and organizes and moderates many volunteer services. All parents or guardians of students in St. Mel School are required to enroll in this organization with annual dues payable at registration.
The Executive Board shall consist of the Pastor, Principal and the following elected officers: President, President-Elect, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, P.R. Secretary and Treasurer. The dates of the monthly meetings are announced in the monthly calendar.
