Welcome to St. Mel School
St. Mel School is proud to carry on the traditions from our founders, the Sisters of Mercy. Since the doors opened 50 years ago, St. Mel School has graduated outstanding young students on their way to being successful high school students. We are a TK- 8th grade Catholic co-educational elementary and junior high school located in Fair Oaks, California. The school is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Our enrollment for the 2009-2010 academic school year is 275 students.
We are dedicated to serving our student body and their families by providing an education grounded in the Catholic tradition. We want our graduates to become valuable members of the greater community by integrating faith with academic excellence.

- January 31 — St. Mel Open House and New Student Registration All are welcome to visit the school at Open House and during the month of January! We invite you to contact our school office by telephone or e-mail to a make an appointment to visit our dynamic, faith-filled school which has educated children of our community and their families since it opened its doors in September 1959. Our school includes grades TK – 8th.
- February 18
— Admissions-Coffee-School Tour for prospective parents will be on Thursday, February 18, 2010 - 9:00-10:30 a.m. We invite you to come take a tour of our gated campus, peek into each classroom and see us in action, the Technology Center, the Science Lab, Library, Extension Program, gymnasium, cafeteria and playground. Admission information along with tuition assistance information will be available. Mrs. Janet Nagel, School Principal, will be there to answer any and all of your questions including “How can I afford tuition?” Additionally, you will learn about our curriculum standards, Student Learning Expectations, co-curricular, extra-curricular, and athletic programs. Come experience the dividends of a Catholic education at St. Mel School currently in our 50th year of Integrating Faith with Academic Excellence: Faith, Knowledge, Discipline and Morals.
